Restaurant Review: Sunrise Family Restaurant, Chesterton, Indiana

Sunrise Family Restaurant is your typical, Greek-American family restaurant serving breakfast, lunch and supper. Located at the far East end of Indian Boundary Road in Chesterton, IN they are located near St. Anthony's ER facility and several banks and stores. Parking is plentiful.

Sunrise is one of my favourite restaurants and is on my bargain eatery list.  Unpretentious they do what a family style restaurant does best: reasonable prices, good food that is absolutely consistant so you do not have to worry about quality, generous portions, good friendly service.  Example: For right about, $8 at lunch, I had a sandwich, fries, bowl of soup and a roll. Sure add a tip because it's a sit down service restaurant and you still come out at $10 or so for a big lunch.

Breakfast: look all the dishes are good. If you want a real treat try the French Connection which has pancakes, eggs, bacon or sausage.  If you are really hungary try the Tennessee combo omelet which is a huge omelet filled with stuff laid on a bed of hash browns and smothered in sausage gravy. You will be full, you won't walk you will waddle out of there.

Lunch: I am a sucker for the Monte Cristo sandwich which is ham and turkey meats plus Swiss cheese on French Toast. They have dozens of other sandwiches and daily specials too.

Supper: there are so many items on the menu just pick what you like. Restaurants like Sunrise specialize in comfort foods so you cannot go wrong this things like meatloaf, spaghetti, pork loin, pot roast, roast turkey and the like.

I have never had a bad meal at Sunrise. I have never had bad service at Sunrise.
